An Essential Truth.
The cross is the heart of the Gospel and expresses the heart of God, the intentions of the Father toward his estranged creation.
Before Adam was alive, he was just a beautiful sculpture of clay, but then the Creator infused in his nostrils the divine breath of life.
Before encountering Jesus at the cross we are dead like Adam was before he became a living soul. Jesus´dying breath exhaling the words of life “It is finished” provoked the sky, the earth and the temple veil to react in such a violent fashion that people would know something of tremendous proportions had happened.
Before anybody can see clearly the Word of life, the Spirit and what the Holy Word of God, the Bible is, they have to recognize that they are without the heartbeat of God, their heart and their bodies are made up of diverse combinations of chemicals.
So it´s no wonder that they take the Bible for just another book and do not understand the life giving force that is behind the divine breath that brought everything into existence.
Once we recognize the truth that our heart is beating away one more beat from death, then we will accept the cross as being the instrument that brought the reconciliation between God and his creature.
That acknowledgment allows the miracle of the new birth to take place in the womb of the body of Christ in which the seed of God is implanted and brings the birth of life energized by the breath given by the Spirit of the second, perfect Adam.
Our sins that brought us death and kept us away from God and his life are nailed to the cross, literally in the person of the Savior who grants us eternal pardon and erases the guilt and the sentence, death.
Then the resurrection guarantees that this new life will grow into eternity in the presence of our beloved Savior and Lord Jesus Christ the King and Lord over all creation.
What an invitation and what a tragedy for someone to want to cling to death when with one turning of their thought and will in humble recognition of their sinful nature, they could pass form death to life and from darkness to light.
And this is love that He loved us first and gave his life a ransom for men. The price has been paid. Believe, receive and be made new and whole and share your new life with others out of gratitude. Hallelujah. Thank you Jesus.
