What the Bible says about light and seed
The True Light "In him, (the Lord Jesus) was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it. The true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world,…the world didn’t recognize him." John 1:4,9.
The Good Seed and the Weeds “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seeds in his field. But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat and went away.” Matthew 13:24,25.

O evangelho sanguessuga e o aprendizado pela perda
O evangelho sanguessuga e o aprendizado pela perda
Por Valmir Nascimento
Perda.
Dá-me isso; dá-me aquilo e dá-me aquilo outro.
Pense nisto!

By What Authority Can They Do This?
By What Authority Can They Do This?
http://gracethrufaith.com/ask-a-bible-teacher
Q. By what authority do pastors/teachers grant themselves the privilege of choosing which portions of the bible they deem relevant, while completely disregarding other sections of scripture? A prime example are teachers who totally and willfully ignore all prophetic passages from the Bible. Also, how this will impact the affected believers who are under these pastor/teachers. Will they be judged unfavorably by the Lord for the careless, or indifferent actions of those who have oversight over them?
A. I don’t believe pastors have the authority to pick and choose what parts of Scripture they’ll teach. I believe doing so is a breach of trust that deprives their flock of important parts of God’s revealed word. James 3:1 says those who teach will be judged more strictly, and I imagine this includes teachers who omit major portions of the Bible.
On the other hand, I have great admiration for those few pastors who take their flock through the whole Bible from Genesis to Revelation, and then start over and do it again. It allows people to put the entire Bible in perspective and gives them a more comprehensive understanding of everything God said to us.
As for the believers under their care, each of us is responsible for ourselves. We can’t use the excuse of having a poor teacher to justify a lack of knowledge on our part. The Lord never intended for us to have to rely on others for instruction.

The Wisdom of Patience - Please pass the cheese
The Wisdom
of Patience

He has made everything beautiful in his time.
The end of the matter is better than its beginning
and patience is better than pride. Ecclesiastes 3:11; 7:8.
A few years
back a Kraft commercial for their Parmesan cheese attracted my attention. I
love the way Jewish, Italian, French or Brazilian families to name a few make the
dinner table a place of great communication in sharing political debate, loud
banter and laughter while at the same time respecting the experience and wisdom
of the elders in the family.
On the screen
a wonderful long table was set with all the delicious dishes cooked by the Mama for
her Italian family. In the middle of the table a small child was sitting next
to his grandpa, anxiously waiting his turn to devour the delicious spaghetti
with an appetite already stimulated by the wonderful aroma of the Bolognese
sauce.
His big round
eyes were following the can of Parmesan cheese as each one was passing it
around the table. He was so eager to start eating that he lifted his eyes and
asked his grandpa permission to start: “Now, Grandpaw?” who was answering: “not yet”. Then the same
questions and answers were shared just by an inquiring glance from below and a
negative movement of the index finger from above. Slowly everybody was shaking the
can in a heaping serving of grated cheese on their plate.
You could
see the impatience grow on the kid´s face and in his eyes imploring his
grand-father to give him the signal. Nobody else seemed to pay attention to the
silent complicity between the oldest and the youngest member of the family.
Finally after the can had made the rounds to his grandpaw and the child had
victoriously shaken the container onto his plate, (there was enough left) one last time he obediently
raised his eyes and with a grin waited for the green light from one he
respected and that he knew loved him enough to teach him the important lessons
in life. The grandfather, an affectionate smile on his face released the
hungry boy with a simple nod.
This
beautifully thought commercial presentation reveals a spiritual lesson that the Lord was trying to teach me.
How many
times when we pray asking our Father in Heaven in faith and according to his
will knowing that he will answer us do we then grow impatient when the answer
doesn´t come right away?
Do we understand the number of levels the Lord works on simultaneously and perfectly?
Do we understand the number of levels the Lord works on simultaneously and perfectly?
Do we know
that He has already answered us, but that we are not the only ones he wanted to
bless? Do we realize that he may be sending his messengers, be they men or
angels to affect the lives of people half way around the world and connecting
events that took place 40, 50,100 years ago to bring about his desired end
according to his will and his purpose?
To
everything there is a season and I would add a “Seasoning”. To read about seasoning with salt in the season of brokenness click https://thelightseed.blogspot.com/2013/01/the-seasons-in-life-of-christian_23.html
So next
time you are tempted to reach and grab for the Parmesan cheese across the
table, be patient and remember the wisdom of the elders.

Hungry Syrian soldiers desert Golan defenses, prowl for food

DEBKAfile Exclusive Report April 23, 2012, 7:10 PM (GMT+02:00)
The wretched plight of the troops manning Syrian defense divisions defending the Golan border and Mt. Hermon was clearly visible from lookout points on the Israeli side in the last two days, debkafile’s military sources report.
The regular water and food supplies to their bases, the backbone of Syria’s defense lines against Israel, were stopped and redirected to the units fighting anti-Assad rebels in other parts of the country. Large groups of armed soldiers have gone AWOL to hunt for food. For the first time in years, some have approached the border fence. They don’t ask Israeli soldiers for food, but parcels thrown across the fence vanish in a trice.
According to our sources, the 5th Division posted in the Golan town of Quneitra has suffered the largest number of desertions, estimated at more than 1,500 officers and men, around 15 percent of the full complement. But hundreds of dropouts occur daily from the 15th, 9th and 7th Divisions stationed in central and southern Golan.
The district commands have meanwhile lost control of the Syrian-Israeli border deployment. Military facilities are deserted with no one to guard against trespassers. Gangs, local and from across Syria’s eastern borders with Jordan and Iraq, were quick to realize the bases are unguarded and have begun stripping them of equipment and looting everything they can lay hands on.
These gangs are working stealthily so as not to drawing the attention of Assad’s security forces which might stop the looting. But they are most likely being used by Assad’s Sunni enemies in Iraq and Jordan as vehicles to plant terrorist cells inside Syria for attacking military targets.
Debkafile’s intelligence and counter-terror sources disclose this is what happened at the Golan village of Sahm al-Jolan near Quneitra Friday, April 20 when a large (100 kilo) bomb blew up as a Syrian military convoy was passing through. At least 10 soldiers were killed and 35 injured. The Syrian authorities stated that a remote-controlled explosive device blew up against a bus carrying soldiers.
It is believed that a Jordanian Sunni terrorist band was responsible. That day too, five Syrian soldiers were killed in another attack in the southern Syrian town of Karak near the flashpoint town of Deraa.

Solving the Three Day Three Night Mystery
Solving the Three Day Three Night Mystery
In Matthew 12:38 Jesus is asked for a sign that He’s the promised Messiah. The religious officials had just accused Him of using the power of Satan to perform His miracles, and so He described the only sign they would see. “Just as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish,” He said, “So will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth (Matt. 12:40).” By this He meant that because their hearts were hard they would only know for sure that He was their Messiah after they had killed Him, but His response resulted in a 2000 year controversy surrounding the time of His death.
What’s a Sabbath?
Actually the controversy exists largely among gentile believers. Most people familiar with the Jewish religion and culture figured it out long ago. But to gentiles who don’t know about these things, the phrase in John 19:31 identifying the day after the Crucifixion as a special Sabbath means that Jesus was crucified on a Friday, because even gentiles know that the Jewish Sabbath is Saturday. Many otherwise competent resources (such as the Study Bible I use) make that mistake. And everyone agrees that He rose again on Sunday. There isn’t any way you can put three days and three nights between Friday afternoon and Sunday morning. Hence the controversy.
So let’s get it straight. Sabbath means holy day. There is one every Saturday in Israel, but there are also several during the year that are date specific. That means they are always observed on a specific calendar date, regardless of the day. They’re like our Christmas. It always comes on the 25th of December no matter what day of the week that happens to be.
The special Sabbath John referred to is the Feast of Unleavened Bread, and it’s a date specific holy day; always observed on the 15th of the month they call Nisan, which corresponds to March/April on our calendar. So the first thing we learn is that the special Sabbath mentioned in John 19:31 wasn’t a Saturday.
In fact there are three special Sabbaths (or Holy Days, if you prefer) in the month of Nisan alone; Passover on the 14th, the Feast of Unleavened Bread which begins on the 15th and runs through the 22nd, and the Feast of First Fruits on the Sunday morning following Passover. Of the three, only Unleavened Bread prohibits work like the weekly Sabbath, but all have both a historical and prophetic purpose and like all days in the Jewish calendar they begin at sundown, following the pattern of Genesis 1. (This also confuses Gentiles since our day begins at midnight.)
The next issue we have to address is the sequence of events in the week we call Holy Week. In Exodus 12, where the Passover was ordained, we learn what that sequence was. God told the Israelites to select a lamb on the 10th day of the month and inspect it for defects until the 14th. This means through the end of the 13th. Then at twilight they were to slaughter and roast it, eating it that same evening. Using some of its blood they were to paint their door posts red to protect them from the plague coming upon Egypt at midnight.
Jesus came to fulfill the prophecy of the Passover Lamb, to save from death everyone who applies His shed blood to their lives. The only day He ever allowed the people to hail Him as King was on the day we call Palm Sunday, and as we’ll see it was the 10th day of the month. He did this to fulfill the selection process for the Passover Lamb. When the officials told Him to quiet His disciples, He said that if they became quiet, the very stones would cry out (Luke 19:40). For this was the day ordained in history. It was the day He officially became the Lamb of God, Who takes away the sin of the world. It was 483 years to the day from the issuing of the decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem, spoken of by Daniel the Prophet as the day the Messiah would present Himself to Israel. (Daniel 9:25) A little while after the officials spoke with Him, He condemned Jerusalem to utter destruction because they did not recognize the day of His visitation (Luke 19:41-44).
The next three days were filled with the most aggressive debate and confrontation with the officials in His entire ministry. He was being inspected for any doctrinal spot or blemish that would disqualify Him as the Lamb of God. They found none, and finally no one dared ask Him any more questions. (Matt. 22:46)
Tradition, Tradition
Some years before the birth of Jesus the Passover celebration had been changed and in the Lord’s time called for a brief ritual meal of lamb, unleavened bread, and bitter herbs (horseradish) to begin the 14th followed by a great and leisurely festival meal on the 15th, when the Feast of Unleavened Bread begins. This tradition is still followed today.
The 14th became known as Preparation Day (Mark 15:42, Luke 23:54, John 19:31), because on it they made ready for the great feast day beginning at sundown, after which no work was permitted. Matthew identifies the day after the Crucifixion as the day after Preparation Day (Matt. 27:62) so all four Gospels agree. Jesus died on Preparation day, the 14th of their month Nisan, which is Passover. He ate the ritual meal with His disciples in the Upper Room, and then was arrested, tried, convicted, and put to death; all on Passover. He had to be, in order to fulfill the prophecies of the Passover Lamb.
How Do We Know This?
A little over 100 years ago a believer named Robert Anderson was head of Scotland Yard’s investigative division. He became intrigued by the three days and three nights issue and enlisted the help of the London Royal Observatory to investigate the problem since astronomers can locate the exact position of the planets and stars on any date in history. Since Passover always falls on the 14th, and since the Jewish calendar is lunar (moon) rather than solar (sun) oriented, there is always a full moon on Passover. This fulfills Genesis 1:14.
Plotting the course of the Sun and Moon they documented the day and date of every full moon. The Royal Observatory discovered that the first Palm Sunday was the 10th of Nisan, the day when Exodus 12 says to select the lamb. Therefore Passover, the 14th, was Thursday. The Feast of Unleavened bread began on Friday the 15th, Saturday the 16th was the weekly Sabbath, and Resurrection Morning was also a Sunday, the 17th.
From Thursday to Sunday there are three days and three nights. Here’s how it works. It’s a little confusing to our way of thinking because the Hebrew day changes at sunset, which means that night precedes day. But read carefully and you’ll see that it makes sense.
Early that Thursday morning the Jewish leadership gotten permission to crucify Him. (Matt. 27:1-26) His fate was sealed and He was hanging on the cross by 9 AM, as good as dead. His actual time of death was about 3 PM and His body was laid in the tomb sometime later, since the officials wanted it off the cross before sundown brought the Feast of Unleavened Bread, after which no work was permitted. By then Jesus had been in Sheol for several hours. Thursday was day one.
Because in Jewish reckoning the night precedes the day, at sundown it became Friday the 15th, night one, and the special Sabbath John mentioned began (John 19:31). At sunrise it was Friday day, day two. The next sundown brought Saturday night the 16th, night two, and the regular Sabbath began. As of sunrise it was Saturday day, day three. At sundown on Saturday it became Sunday night the 17th, night three, and sometime before sunrise Jesus rose from the tomb. Three days and three nights. When the women arrived at sunrise to anoint His body, He was already gone.
So in the week Jesus died two Sabbaths that permitted no work were observed back to back: The Feast of Unleavened Bread on Friday the 15th, and the regular weekly Sabbath on Saturday the 16th. In Matthew 28:1 we read that at dawn on the first day of the week (Sunday the 17th) the women who were close to Jesus went to the tomb. Luke 24:1 tells us they were going to anoint His body for burial. The two Sabbaths had prevented them from doing so earlier. But He wasn’t there. He had risen. Being the Sunday after Passover, at the Jewish Temple it was Feast of First Fruits. At the Empty Tomb it was Resurrection Morning.
Some people try to equate his time of death with the burial of His body and say you can’t count Thursday as day one, because His body wasn’t laid in the tomb until sunset was upon them. But that doesn’t make sense. A person’s death always precedes his or her burial, sometimes by several days. In the Lord’s case it was several hours between the time He died the the time His body was lain in the tomb.
The two disciples who met the Lord on the road to Emmaus that Sunday (the day the Lord’s resurrection was discovered) help us to confirm this (Luke 24:13-35). At first they thought the Lord must have been a very recent visitor to the area when He asked them to explain why they were so sad. In the course of the discussion they indicated it was the third day since the crucifixion. “Since” is roughly equivalent to “after”. It being Sunday, the previous day (Saturday) would have been the 2nd day since it happened , and Friday would have been the first day since it happened, making Thursday the day it happened.
Others argue that this view doesn’t permit three full days and three full nights in the tomb but that’s not what the Scripture says. It simply says three days and three nights. If you move his death up to Wednesday like some teach to get three full days you violate the Passover Lamb prophecies, and the disciples on the Emmaus road would have to have said it was the fourth day since the crucifixion. So the Thursday date is the only one that will accommodate both the Passover Lamb and the three day three night prophecies. Selah
A Bible Study by Jack Kelley

The Passover Lamb
The next issue we have to address is the sequence of events in the week we call Holy Week. In Exodus 12, where the Passover was ordained, we learn what that sequence was. God told the Israelites to select a lamb on the 10th day of the month and inspect it for defects until the 14th. This means through the end of the 13th. So just like the Lord had commanded in Exodus 12, He was selected on the 10th, inspected on the 11th, 12th, and 13th, and executed on the 14th of Nisan.
How Do We Know This?
A little over 100 years ago a believer named Robert Anderson was head of Scotland Yard’s investigative division.
Selah
Strange sounds in the sky. Oregon
Script accompanying the video.
This is the 3rd morning in a row at roughly 3:00 am. The sound starts with a rumbling in the ground, and then the sound continues for roughly 30 minutes or so. Can not explain where it is coming from, it seems as if it is coming strait from the sky with not a single plane in sight. If anyone has anymore info. on this sound we are hearing, I would very much appreciate any explanation to what we are experiencing here in Oregon. Thank you.
This video was posted on my previous post by Elizabeth Prata of the End Time blog as a part of her post on the strange noise in the Oregon sky.

Strange sounds in the sky: Oregon. by Elizabeth Prata.
http://the-end-time.blogspot.com
Along with all the increased signs that Jesus predicted we would see in advance of His coming, such as wars, earthquakes, pestilences etc; the manifested or visible supernatural has also increased. I've posted about the strange onset in NY of what doctors are calling Tourette's but looks for all the world like demonic possession, entire towns where strange demonic things happen (Sicily and the clocks, demon attack in West Indies and a follow-up), a vampire in Colorado that caused a car crash, Halo over Mile High Stadium, and who can forget the Norwegian Doom Spiral and the Ghost Horse of Tahrir Square?
Now the strange sounds of the Apocalypse. That is the public's name for the phenomenon, not mine. I've posted about the strange sounds three times this year. In January, March and April. Of all the weird/inexplicable things that have been happening, I'm most intrigued by the Strange Sky Noises. (Another name for the phenomenon). And it is a phenomenon by now.
Phenomenon is defined as "any observable occurrence." But that doesn't seem to adequately cover the definition for the Sounds of the Apocalypse events that are occurring all over the world. So we look at the definition of Paranormal Phenomenon: which is a general term that designates experiences that lie outside "the range of normal experience or scientific explanation" or that indicates phenomena understood to be outside of science's current ability to explain or measure.
Paranormal phenomena are distinct from certain hypothetical entities, such as dark matter and dark energy, only insofar as paranormal phenomena are inconsistent with the world as already understood through empirical observation coupled with scientific methodology." (Wikipedia). THAT seems to define it.
Here is the commentary for the video uploaded by the Oregon woman: "This is the 3rd morning in a row at roughly 3:00 am. This blog has a follow up with questions asked of the Youtube lady who had uploaded the video. She answered some of the questions people had wondered about in her comment section.
Now for the biblical exploration of the strange sky noises. "A noise shall come even to the ends of the earth; for the LORD hath a controversy with the nations, he will plead with all flesh; he will give them that are wicked to the sword, saith the LORD." (Jeremiah 25:31). The Hebrew word for noise is defined in Strong's Concordance: "shaon: or din, clamor, big noise, roaring, rumbling, tumult." The sounds people have been hearing all over the world have been variously described with exactly those adjectives. Strong's further defines the word shaon, "a roar of many waters as in simile of noise of invading host." Further, the infinitive of the word is defined as "by implication, destruction -- horrible, noise, pomp, rushing, tumult". Horrible. Yes. You will remember that the host are the armies of angels, both the good ones and the fallen ones. In none of the cases where the noise was heard and recorded did it sound like a pleasant noise. The noises are not named Sounds of the Apocalypse for nothing. If the armies of heaven are readying for the battle, then what would it sound like? When Elisha asked God to reveal by sight to his servant the host that had gathered around them, were there also sounds that the servant heard?
"When Elisha prayed and said, "O LORD, I pray, open his eyes that he may see." And the LORD opened the servant's eyes and he saw; and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha." (2 Kings 6:17). Would Elisha's servant have heard rumbling of the chariots? Were his ears also opened? I dare to say that when a multitudinous army masses for battle, there is clanking and rumbling and noise. We know in John 12:28-29 that when Jesus prayed to God for Him to glorify His name, So some heard thunder and some heard the voice of an angel.
I have no doubt that some of these noises are hoaxes. But many of them are not. How do I know? Well, for example, this one above. It is the spookiest, creepiest, scariest I've heard yet. When you get to the last few seconds, the lady says 'I am going to just stay here until it ends' and right then, the noise crescendos into something that is utterly horrifying to the soul. At that time she says, "UH MAYBE NOT!" and the screen goes blank.
The sound terrifies not just the ears but the soul. It raised hackles on my neck and sent a shudder down my body. It caused a spiritual reaction that freaked me out I won't listen to it again. If a hoax noise can do that, then my hat is off to the hoaxer.
Otherwise, pray, people, for soon the sounds will be sight, and the sight will be terrible to behold. Elisha and his servant were not afrighted because the host they were allowed to see were there to help them. In Jeremiah, we read that "He will give them that are wicked the sword." The justified will be in heaven due to the rapture. The wicked will be the ones that are left behind. And it will be to them that the horrible host will rumble with a tumult out of the sky to put them to the sword.
If you are frightened by that specter, then plea to Jesus for forgiveness of your sins. He died for those sins, you know! They are forgiven already. All you have to do is call upon Him as Lord, and because of His death and resurrection, the sin-debt to God has been satisfied. You can be included in that happy group, if you repent. Otherwise the Sounds of the Apocalypse will soon become sight, and "Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken." (Luke 21:26).

Coração de Pedra - a Heart of Stone - João Alexandre
A Heart of Stone
Translated by the author of this blog
There is
the ideal place for who likes to hide
And be
counted as one more in the crowdThere is the place where people hug
But when the hour comes to pay the price
They wash their hands
Here is where everybody is found
But end up getting lost because
Of thinking they are invincible
There is a place with no room for sadness,
Anguish, for pain or inexpressible groans
God doesn´t
dwell in temples built by man´s hands
God will never
be chained to the walls of a religionGod lives no more in temples build by man´s hands
God will never be confined in the darkness
Of anyone who still has a heart of stone
There no
one knows the essence,
Only the appearance
of living in communion Here is where fools understand each other
Where the wise get caught up in the value of tradition
A present false paradise, a distant fanaticism
A Christianity without direction
Here is where everything is forbidden
Where everything is permitted
Where they are just like that, neither “yes”, nor “no”
May he finish well, even if there is disagreement,
Anyone who
reconsiders the belief of God omnipresentLet us be coherent, transparent, resplendent,
Aware that all of us believers who are his children
In the street, at work, at school, at the shop, the bakery
At the first aid clinic, on the highway, in the congregation
Let us feel the same way that God dwells in our hearts.

Bénédictions et malédictions
Bénédictions et malédictions
http://schoenelblog2.blogspot.com.br/
alors.
Mais voilà, il est aussi écrit en Es 35 : 1 Le désert et le pays aride se réjouiront ;
fleurs, et tressaillira de joie, Avec chants d’allégresse et cris de triomphe ;
Or, selon l’Institut Météorologique,
vie.

Pleading THE BLOOD OF JESUS
The act of the Atonement for our sin is in the shedding of the blood in Jesus Christ's death. Jesus came in the likeness of sinful flesh, in a mortal body. Since God cannot die He needed to take upon Himself a human body to dies for the sins of the world.
By His death He poured out His life and died for our sins we would be reconciled by it. This was done as a Propitiation to the Father almost 2,000 years ago and is still effective today. The Atonement was for man and unto God the Father. Propitiation for sins is always toward God, not toward man. The Father accepted His payment for our sins. It was between God the Father, and the God/man Christ Jesus. We ourselves do not touch the blood, it is applied to our lives by the high priest who is Christ when we believe in faith to receive his Atonement. Eph.1:7; Col. 1:14 in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins." Rev. 1:5: "To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood," This occurred almost 2,000 years ago.
The blood in Jesus body was not the magic. He had to die on a certain day and time to fulfill the plan of the Passover lamb. The blood of Christ refers to his sacrificial death. One can bleed and still not die but the Bible tells us he died for our sins- by crucifixion. If Jesus had been cut and someone were to physically contact his blood, touching it, there would be no transference of his holiness, power or healing. (unlike the Indiana Jones movie in search of the Holy Grail). 1 Cor.15:3: "that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures," Rom.5:8: "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Rom.5:10: "For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, Phil 2:8: "And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross." Heb.9:15 "And for this reason He is the Mediator of the new covenant, by means of death," God the Father accepted his death as his blood was spilled on the altar (the cross). It was completed when he died.
He said this is my body pointing to the Passover lamb motif in the Old Testament .He was given as a lamb on a specific day and time for a specific purpose. If it was done any other way or day it would not have been acceptable. Just as John the baptizer introduced him as "the LAMB that takes away the sins of the world." Christ fulfilled all the Old Testament types including the scapegoat but it was the Passover lamb that is of the most importance. He was judged instead of us, so he passed over our judgment and we go from death to life. Exod.12:13 "And when I see the blood, I will pass over you; and the plague shall not be on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt." To have the blood applied was so that one would not receive the judgment of God he passed over them. Today the communion we participate in (the blood and bread) is a memorial just as it was celebrated as a feast after the original Passover. Ex.12:14. 1 Cor.5:7 "…Christ our Passover, was sacrificed for us."
Lev.1:5": "and the priests, Aaron's sons, shall bring the blood and sprinkle the blood all around on the altar that is by the door of the tabernacle of meeting." Lev.4:6: "The priest shall dip his finger in the blood and sprinkle some of the blood seven times before the LORD, in front of the veil of the sanctuary." Lev.4:30: "Then the priest shall take some of its blood with his finger, put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering."
All these are types of Christ in the different sacrifices and different offerings. While the blood was applied from the animal it required the animal to die, and give its life
In the Passover the blood was applied only once and it released the captives of slavery from Israel. They could not personally touch it, they had to use the hyssop plant and dip in the blood to apply it to the door. In the New Testament the blood only works when it is applied by faith; the blood sacrifice is done only once to release one from sin. It continually cleanses it does not have to be reapplied as if it loses strength.(1 Jn.1:7-9)
Heb. 9:7-14: "But into the second part the high priest went alone once a year, not without blood, which he offered for himself and for the people's sins committed in ignorance; But Christ came as High Priest of the good things to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation. Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption.” Col. 1:20 tells us this all happened at a certain place and time “And, having made peace through the blood of his cross” We are redeemed “through the blood of the everlasting covenant,” (Heb. 13:20). This covenant is eternal because the life of Christ was, so is His blood.
In the New Testament it wasn’t a repetitive act like in the Old Testament, but once for all. And we do not handle the blood our high priest Jesus does. It is applied to those who are recipients of salvation. Heb.10:19-22: "Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, and having a High Priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water."
We can enter by Christ who is our sacrifice, our high priest as he made a new way through a living tabernacle his own flesh. He sprinkles our hearts (our spirit) by His blood so we can be cleansed and come into a relationship.
There are some Charismatic's and Pentecostal's that use the practice (now a cliché) of pleading the blood over people that are unsaved and things they want cleansed or delivered. Just about anything gets the blood pleaded over it. But this is an unbiblical practice, nowhere do we read of the apostles "pleading the Blood." Although we are priests, Jesus is our high priest, we cannot apply the blood over any or every thing we want cleansed. The blood is applied only to those who have faith in the atonement of Christ. It is an individual’s choice and it happens only once, we cannot put the blood over them or on them. In the Old Testament motif's, the blood was sprinkled in the holy of Holies for the people by the high priest once a year. But the objects were those set apart for the Lord, strict instructions were given by God himself on this matter. The high priest could not sprinkle the blood on anything his heart desired. Especially having the blood to be on unsaved or unsanctified individuals. You can't make something clean that is unclean. This was done only on the objects God set apart in the temple. It was sprinkled on the ark, the mercy seat for their forgiveness.
We see no such practice by the apostles or instructions in the epistles to do any such sprinkling or pleading of Christ's blood on anyone (even those demon possessed). In the Old Testament it was a physical act by the priest to put the blood on the altar, not moving it from one place to another. It is the same principle in the New Testament, one cannot move it on to those people or things for cleansing by speaking, (pleading it). The blood represents the life of the person, we cannot plead His life on others? Only the high priest handled the blood to go on the mercy seat for the forgiveness of sins, Jesus is the one who sprinkled His blood, not us. We can’t physically touch it today nor can we apply it somewhere else spiritually, since we are not the high priest, Jesus is.
The blood was to be on the altar before God. Exod.24:6 And Moses took half the blood and put it in basins, and half the blood he sprinkled on the altar. Heb. 9:19-22:" For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and goats, with water, scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people, saying, "This is the blood of the covenant which God has commanded you." Then likewise he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle and all the vessels of the ministry. And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission." This blood continues to cleanse today by all those who have faith in Christ's sacrifice because it is eternal. As the blood continues to cleanse us from our sins, it should not be reduced to simply a historical event in the past.
There is no magical power in application of the blood for the numerous uses it is applied for today. It was for the cleansing and forgiveness of sins only. To use it as such is to have a distorted view of its application today and an irreverent understanding of it being precious, incorruptible and holy.

Se for graça é graça.

Israel And The New Covenant
Israel And The New Covenant

Q. I am ever so thankful for your site – read it every day. I have a question regarding the new covenant – in Jeremiah 31:31-34 – we see the Lord saying that He will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and Judah – it is my understanding that we are talking here prophetically of the covenant with the Church – if so – how do we understand that to be the church from that portion of scripture when it specifically says the house of Israel and Judah?
A. The New Covenant was first promised to Israel and Jesus came to fulfill this promise. At the so-called last supper He introduced the New Covenant to His disciples (Luke 21:20). While Israel had officially rejected Him, the offer of the New Covenant remained open to all who believed in Him. Later Paul extended this promise to the Gentiles (1 Cor. 11:23-26) and the New Covenant became the foundational doctrine of the Church.
But the offer was never withdrawn from Israel, and toward the end of the Great Tribulation they will accept it. Zechariah 12:10 says,
“And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication. They will look on me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn son.”
In Romans 11:25-27 Paul wrote that when this happens all Israel will be saved. Romans 11:27 is a summary of Jeremiah 31:33-34.
