What the Bible says about light and seed

The True Light "In him, (the Lord Jesus) was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it. The true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world,…the world didn’t recognize him." John 1:4,9.

The Good Seed and the Weeds “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seeds in his field. But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat and went away.” Matthew 13:24,25.

The Sheep Hear the Shepherd

Is the Bible true?

By Tiffany Wismer

Is the Bible True: The Series:
An Introduction to The Question
The Sheep Hear the Shepherd
Coming soon: Is the God of the Bible the one true God?

If the Bible could be proven by apologetics, by intellectual arguments and Westernized thinking, wouldn't that be in itself a sort of counter-proof of its truth? Is being able to understand philosophy and science and theology a prerequisite for a relationship with God? When we think of Jesus, does this idea make any sense at all? Jesus was not a persuader. He did not give people answers. He just said "follow me" and they did, or they didn't, based on what they saw Him do and what they thought of His claims. They were either sheep, following the voice of their Shepherd, or they weren't. The same is true for believers today.

The supernatural view of the Bible, and the idea that it contains a divine voice which speaks to the heart of man, is appealing because of its universality. God is not biased — His wisdom is for everyone who wants it (James 1:4-5). Whether a man is educated or not, rich or poor, from east or from west, makes no difference. God speaks and man's heart hears. Some will ask, what about those people who never hear? What if they don't have access to a Bible, or they live on a desert island somewhere and have never had the chance to hear God's voice? It's a valid question, and it has a surprisingly easy answer if we can set aside the idea that God is limited to apologetics and empirical arguments.

This desert island question labors under the false assumption that if the Bible is not accessible, the voice of God is unheard. But we are forgetting Abraham, who heard God's voice before the Law of Moses even existed. God can speak to the person on the desert island just as he spoke to Abraham before there was a lawtweet or anything written regarding God. Abraham heard God's voice and trusted Him. That was the first relationship of faith, and that is why Abraham is the father of all those who have faith (Romans 4:16). And if the person on the desert island ever returns to society and picks up a Bible, he will recognize the voice in the Scripture as the voice that spoke the words of eternal life to him while he was all alone. God is fully able to do this for any person who we might consider "unreached" and there is much evidence that he is doing that very thing today in closed nations, through dreams and visions.

Of course, this now leads to a second, very important question. Muslims and Mormons, among others, claim to hear God's voice in their own holy books, just as Christians do. If God's voice can be heard and trusted by human hearts, has he spoken to us through only the Bible, or is his voice heard through other religions as well?

ARE YOU READY FOR THIS?

Prophecy Watchers
 Reposted from facebook.com
The Torah reading (Parsha) being read in Jewish synagogues all over the world this week comes from this passage in Ezekiel 38. It begins on Saturday, October 3rd. That's two days away. Oh my. Here it is.
Ezekiel 38:18
And it shall come to pass at the same time when Gog shall come against the land of Israel, saith the Lord GOD, that my fury shall come up in my face.
And the Parsha reading ends with this verse.

Ezekiel 39:7- So will I make my holy name known in the midst of my people Israel; and I will not let them pollute my holy name any more: and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel.

Who's ready to head on home? Was the Blood Moon a portend of this big event? Was the Shemitah a sign of things to come? Has Mr. Putin come to take a spoil? Hmmm. Stay tuned and keep watching everybody!

Russia enters Syrian war with air strikes, jolts the Mid East into new era DEBKAfile Special Report

That Russia launched its first air strikes in Syria Wednesday, Sept. 30 was confirmed by the Russian Defense Ministry in Moscow and criticized by US officials. Moscow stressed that it acted in support of Bashar Assad’s war on the Islamic State, assisted by other foreign powers including Iran and Iraq working together from an allied command center in Baghdad. Its targets were described as stores, ammunition dumps and vehicles, located according to US sources around Homs and Hama. The Russian communiquĂ©s did not indicate which organizations were bombed.

The Russian aerial offensive marks a turning point in Middle East affairs. Russia is emerging strongly as the number one power in the region. The governments which hitherto coordinated their military polices with the US, like those of Israel, Jordan and Turkey will have to reassess their orientation and affinities in a hurry.

For Israel it is the end of years of freedom for its air force to strike its enemies from the skies of Syria or Lebanon. It also marks the end of any plans Turkey and Jordan may have entertained for setting up buffer and no-fly zones in Syria to protect their borders.

Washington quickly criticized the air strikes, but said Moscow’s moves would not change the US-led air campaign targeting the Islamic State in Syria. That remains to be seen.
Secretary of State John Kerry told Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov that the Russian air strikes are “not helpful,” and ran counter to the effort to make sure mishaps do not happen inadvertently in the air.

DEBKAfile earlier reported on the fast-moving developments of Wednesday, Sept. 30.
A day after the White House said that “clarity” on Russian intentions in Syria had been achieved at the Obama-Putin summit in New York, the Russian President Vladimir Putin notched up the military tensions around Syria Wednesday, Sept. 30. A senior US official said that Russian diplomats had sent an official demarche ordering US planes to quit Syria, adding that Russian fighter jets were now flying over Syrian territory. US military sources told Fox News that US planes would not comply with the Russian demand. “There is nothing to indicate that we are changing operations over Syria,” a senior defense official said.

Earlier, Putin sought from the Russian upper house, the Federation Council, authorization for the use of military force abroad. He did not specify the country or region, but the only part of the world where Russia is currently building up its ground, air and naval forces outside the country is Syria.

A short time after the request, the Federation Council announced that it had unanimously authorized the use of Russian military force in Syria. The last time Putin sought this authorization was in early 2014 when he decided to annex the Crimean Peninsula from Ukraine. His action now contradicts his assertion to CBS on Sept. 28: “Russia will not participate in any troop operations in the territory of Syria or in any other states. Well, at least we don’t plan on it right now.”

DEBKAfile’s military sources report that Russian preparations for military action in Syria are clearly not limited to that country. They are being run by a joint coordination forward command and war room established a few days ago by Russia, Iran, Iraq and Syria in Baghdad. It is designed as the counterpart of the US Central Command-Forward-Jordan war room established north of Amman for joint US-Saudi-Qatari-Israeli-Jordanian and UAE operations in support of Syrian rebel operations against the Assad regime.

Two rival power war rooms are therefore poised at opposite ends of the Syrian arena – one representing a US-led alliance for operations against Assad, and the other a Russian-led group which is revving up to fight on his behalf.

Conspicuous in the swiftly evolving Syrian situation is the detailed advance planning which went into the Russian military buildup and partnerships, and the slow perception of what was going on, on the part of the United States and Israel.

Tuesday, US Defense Secretary Ashton Carter instructed his staff to establish a communication channel with the Kremlin to ensure the safety of US and Russian military operations and “avoid conflict in the air” between the two militaries. The Russian defense ministry shot back with a provocative stipulation that coordination with the US must go through Baghdad, an attempt to force Washington to accept that the two war rooms would henceforth communicate on equal terms.

Israel’s Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon denied Tuesday night that Israel was coordinating its operations with the Russian army, stressing that Israel reserves the IDF’s right to freedom of action over Syria and would continue to prevent arms supplies reaching terrorist organizations such as Hizballah.

Meanwhile, six advanced Russian SU-34 strike fighter jets landed at Latakia’s Al-Assad international airport, after flying to their destination through Iraqi airspace.
The Russian military buildup is assuming far greater proportions than either imagined, far outpacing US or Israeli efforts at coordination.

Chilling: Netanyahu Glares at UN Delegates for 45 Seconds for Their 'Deafening Silence' on Iran Deal

Cortney O'Brien
Reblogged from townhall.com

At the United Nations General Assembly Thursday in New York City, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu renewed his warning about Iran’s path to a nuclear bomb. Considering the recent passage of the nuclear agreement with Iran, the prime minister’s comments were especially powerful.

“Iran is setting up dozens of terror cells,” Netanyahu said. “Imagine what they will do after the sanctions are lifted.”
“Unmuzzled,” Iran will “go on the prowl, devouring more and more prey,” he said.
In the wake of the nuclear deal, Netanyahu remarked, Iran is spending billions on weapons and satellites.
“Do you think Iran is doing that to advance peace?”

That question was perhaps a direct response to President Obama’s claim on Monday that the Iran Deal will ensure their nuclear program is “peaceful.”
Netanyahu rejected such assurances, saying the agreement does nothing to block Iran’s path to a nuclear weapon.

“When bad behavior is awarded, it only gets worse,” he said. “I’m gravely concerned the nuclear deal with Iran will prove to be the marriage certificate of that unholy union.”
Netanyahu acknowledged some "well-intentioned people" believe the deal is the only way to block Iran’s path to the bomb. Yet, “the best intentions don’t prevent the worst outcomes.”
In the most powerful part of his speech, Netanyahu stopped to directly address the nations in attendance.

“If Iran’s rulers were working to destroy your countries, perhaps you’d be somewhat less enthusiastic about the deal,” he said. “If Iran’s terror proxies were firing thousands of rockets at your cities, perhaps you’d be more measured in your praise.”
“And yet the response from every one of you here, utter silence," he said. "Deafening silence.”

After those remarks, he stood at the podium and glared at the delegates around the room for about one minute.

Watch the chilling moment below:

from wnd.com

Note from this blog´s author:
Is it not interesting to see that the 2015 season was considered low in the hurricanes total and now this one named Joaquin (in Hebrew meaning "established by YHWH") comes right at the time the world is trying to mess with God´s established eternal covenant with Israel?
One must be totally blind ignorant or defiant of God´s sovereignty to miss the connection.

This is what God says in his Word:

Job 38:22-30
"Have you entered the storehouses of the snow, Or have you seen the storehouses of the hail, Which I have reserved for the time of distress, For the day of war and battle? "Where is the way that the light is divided, Or the east wind scattered on the earth? read more."Who has cleft a channel for the flood, Or a way for the thunderbolt, To bring rain on a land without people, On a desert without a man in it, To satisfy the waste and desolate land And to make the seeds of grass to sprout? "Has the rain a father? Or who has begotten the drops of dew? "From whose womb has come the ice? And the frost of heaven, who has given it birth? "Water becomes hard like stone, And the surface of the deep is imprisoned.

This is the solution provided by God himself: a contrite heart, crying out in repentance for our sins, turning toward and accepting God´s pardon, and in faith trust that God keeps his Word that will prevail in every instance, gratitude and praise will follow.

Psalm 107: 23-32
They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters;
24 These see the works of the Lord, and his wonders in the deep.
25 For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof.
26 They mount up to the heaven, they go down again to the depths: their soul is melted because of trouble.
27 They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wit's end.
28 Then they cry unto the Lord in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses.
29 He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.
30 Then are they glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them unto their desired haven.
31 Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!
32 Let them exalt him also in the congregation of the people, and praise him in the assembly of the elders.

Now from the New Testament:
Jesus Stills the Sea Mark 4:35- 41
35 On that day, when evening came, He *said to them, “Let us go over to the other side.” 36 [a]Leaving the crowd, they *took Him along with them in the boat, just as He was; and other boats were with Him. 37 And there *arose a fierce gale of wind, and the waves were breaking over the boat so much that the boat was already filling up. 38 Jesus Himself was in the stern, asleep on the cushion; and they *woke Him and *said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?” 39 And He got up and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Hush, be still.” And the wind died down and [b]it became perfectly calm. 40 And He said to them, “Why are you [c]afraid? Do you still have no faith?” 41 They became very much afraid and said to one another, “Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey Him?”

The Lord Jesus can bring on a storm and calm it as part of a manifestation of his power for our benefit.
I hope that this latest warning will cause people to repent, and turn to God who will act in mercy as he has promised in his Word.

Brave German woman rebules Islam´s lie

Reblogged from geeezblog.wordpress.com
Sunday Faith Blog
This is REALLY an exciting video for believers!   Please watch and feel uplifted!  We all heard about the German woman who shouted out at a concert in a church in Germany against the call to prayer by an Imam in the church, but I’m not sure we have all heard her interviewed.  I hadn’t and I’m glad I have.  This is so powerful.  I urge you all to watch…it’s six minutes and well worth it:

“Here I stand, I can do no other…”  Martin Luther

Would that we all had that strength and resolve for our faith.
Only conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or remain absent, I will hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;  Philippians 1:27
Stand strong, pray hard…. America deserves it.  And have a great Sunday.

What the pope could have said

People of all faiths and political persuasions were waiting to hear what Pope Francis said when he spoke to a Joint Session of Congress and the U.N. General Assembly. This is a speech Pope Francis could have delivered, with acknowledgments and thanks to Pope Leo XIII, G.K. Chesterton, Richard B. Ransom and Terrence P. Jeffrey. I…

The Shocking Message Pope Francis Preached At New York’s St. Patrick’s Cathedral

| September 25, 2015 | 91 Comments

The Pope, the self-proclaimed “vicar of Christ”, preaching a message of the FAILURE OF JESUS on the cross.

“For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.” 1 Corinthians 1:18 (KJV)
Like many people, I missed the message that the Pope preached at St. Patrick’s Cathedral because it was not streamed live as far as I was aware. And honestly, I was much more interested from a prophecy perspective in what he was going to say to Washington and the United Nations. So I did not bother to take a peek and see what he preached at St. Patrick’s. When I did, I about fell off my chair.
pope-francis-failure-of-the-cross-st-patricks-cathedral-new-york-city
“We need to remember that we are followers of Jesus Christ and his life, humanly speaking, ended in failure, the failure of the cross.”
First of all, Pope Francis gave a shout-out to his “Muslim brothers and sisters” when he said this – “I would like to express two sentiments for my Muslim brothers and sisters: Firstly, my greetings as they celebrate the feast of sacrifice.” In case he doesn’t know, Islam clearly teaches that their god, Allah, has no son. None at all. So for a Christian to be a spiritual brother or sister with a Muslim is impossible. The Qu’ran boldly declares that Allah has no son:
“It is not [befitting] for Allah to take a son; exalted is He! When He decrees an affair, He only says to it, “Be,” and it is.”  Surah 19:35,36
Pope Francis has been wooing the Muslims into the Vatican tent for sometime now. In November of 2014, he prayed inside a Mosque in Istanbul, in December of 2014 Pope Francis defended Islam as a “religion of peace”, and just a few weeks ago issued the order for all Catholics in Europe to take in Muslim migrants to live with them in their homes.

But it didn’t stop there, not by a long shot. Pope Francis declared the work of Jesus on the cross to be a failure

Perhaps the most shocking, the most stunning words to ever come out of the Pope’s mouth had to do with him talking about the “failure of the Cross”. What?? It is because of Jesus on the cross, that we have salvation. It is because of the cross that we now have access to the Father and a FULL pardon for our sins. It is because of the cross that Heaven, and not Hell, is our destination. This is what he said:
“The cross shows us a different way of measuring success. Ours is to plant the seeds. God sees to the fruits of our labors. And if at times our efforts and works seem to fail and not produce fruit, we need to remember that we are followers of Jesus Christ and his life, humanly speaking, ended in failure, the failure of the cross.”
That was it, not another word. You would expect him to say something like “while it appeared to be a failure to His disciples, the cross was actually a victory…” or some such thing. I have heard that preached many times before in church. But the thing is, he didn’t say that. He just simply stated that the life of Jesus on the cross “ended in failure”, which is a complete and total lie. How he could just leave it there, in defeat, to declare the cross a FAILURE and not expound one, tiny bit more is beyond imagination. The Pope, the self-proclaimed “vicar of Christ”, preaching a message of the FAILURE OF JESUS on the cross. Honestly, words fail me at this moment. Truly.
What better way could Pope Francis end a “sermon” whose opening remarks call Christ-rejecting, Hell-bound Muslims our “brothers and sisters”, and whose main point is the “failure of Jesus on the cross”, than by praying to Mary and asking for her blessing:
“Dear brothers and sisters, in a few moments, we will sing the Magnificat. Let us commend to our lady the work we have been entrusted to do. Let us join her in thanking god for the great things he has done…”
You can click here to read the full transcript of this sermon from the pit of Hell, but honestly, why would you want to?
Pope Francis, as far I am concerned, still retains his title of The False Prophet…and then some.
