The Lord Jesus´ Little Donkey

What could I add to such an act 

Of glorious humility by the Lord and King 

Of the whole universe 

At the cheerful entrance in humble 

In the eternal capital of His own kingdom?

 

That would only be redundant 

Instead, I better follow my destiny

The Way, the Truth and the Life

Which is only to surpass

Myself and not others

To not belittle my brothers

Or neighbors, but to spur them

On the path of righteousness,

By sailboat or on a camel.

 

However, I must confess

That my preferred transportation

My Master´s choice,

Is by way of example

The back of this gentle animal,

So cute and kind

For me no white horse,

With a wavy mane,

But this old and modest taxi

The unforgettable little gray donkey.
