I have a very hard time listening to Washer ...Amen! I have a very hard time listening to Washer because that plaintiveness in his tone just comes of whiney and dramatic to me. The first time I heard him, it was very moving, but he gets that way in every single sermon. I am not being as gracious as Dr. Flowers. Because to me it seems like a schtick, a "technique" or manipulation aimed at stirring emotion. Calvinism lends itself to arrogance in my opinion, speaking as someone who grew up in Presbyterian Church of America.
